Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to visit Ladakh?

The best time to visit Ladakh is from May to September when the weather is pleasant and all roads are accessible. June to August is peak season with the warmest temperatures. May and September offer fewer crowds but slightly cooler weather. The Manali-Leh and Srinagar-Leh highways are typically open from late May to October.

Is altitude sickness a concern in Ladakh?

Yes, altitude sickness is common in Ladakh as Leh is at 11,500 feet. We include a dedicated acclimatization day in our itinerary. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol for the first 2 days, and don't overexert yourself. Our vehicles carry oxygen cylinders for emergencies. If you have pre-existing heart or respiratory conditions, please consult your doctor before traveling.

What permits are required and are they included?

Inner Line Permits (ILP) are mandatory for Indian nationals to visit Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Tso Moriri. For foreign nationals, a Protected Area Permit (PAP) is required. All necessary permits are included in our package price. We handle the permit application process – you just need to provide passport-size photos and ID proof.

What type of vehicles are used for the tour?

We use well-maintained SUVs like Toyota Innova or similar vehicles suitable for high-altitude terrain. All vehicles are equipped with first-aid kits, oxygen cylinders, and experienced drivers who know the routes well. Vehicle sharing is typically with 4-6 travelers for cost-effectiveness, though private vehicles can be arranged at additional cost.

What kind of accommodation can I expect?

In Leh, you'll stay in comfortable 3-star hotels with attached bathrooms, hot water, and heating. In Nubra Valley and Pangong, accommodation is in Swiss-style camps or guest houses with basic but clean facilities. Please note that electricity and mobile networks may be limited in remote areas – part of the authentic Ladakh experience!

Is this tour suitable for families with children?

Yes, families with children above 5 years old can enjoy this tour. However, please ensure your child is healthy and consult your pediatrician before traveling to high altitudes. We recommend extra acclimatization time for children. The camel safari and scenic drives are usually highlights for kids!

What should I pack for a Ladakh trip?

Pack in layers! Bring warm jackets, thermals, comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen (SPF 50+), lip balm, personal medications, and a good camera. Nights can be cold even in summer (2-8°C), while days are pleasant (15-25°C). Don't forget a reusable water bottle and some dry snacks for the long drives.

Are meals included in this package?

Yes, daily breakfast and dinner are included throughout the tour. Lunch is not included to give you flexibility – you can try local dhabas and restaurants along the way. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available. If you have dietary restrictions, please inform us in advance.

Honeymoon trip that exceeded all expectations! The lakeside camp at Pangong was so romantic - we even saw shooting stars at night. The planning was perfect and we didn't have to worry about anything. Thank you for making our first trip as a couple so special.

Best trip of 2025! The 3 Idiots point at Pangong was obviously a must-visit but honestly every single spot on this itinerary was Instagram-worthy. The monasteries were so peaceful. Already planning to come back for Tso Moriri next year.

What an incredible experience! The Pangong Lake sunrise was the highlight of my life. Our driver Tashi was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel safe on those mountain roads. The acclimatization day really helped - I had no issues at all. Highly recommend this package to anyone wanting to see the real Ladakh.

Coming from Chennai, I was worried about the cold but the team advised us well on what to pack. The temperature difference was huge but manageable. Ladakh feels like a different country altogether - the landscapes, the people, the monasteries. Life-changing trip!

This was my first solo trip and I was a bit nervous about Ladakh. But the team made it so easy! The group I was paired with was lovely and we're still in touch. The camel ride at Hunder was so unique - where else can you ride camels with mountains in the background?

Good experience overall. Being vegetarian, I was happy that there were decent options available throughout. The Thiksey monastery was my favorite - such stunning architecture and peaceful vibes. Minor suggestion: provide more detailed briefing about altitude sickness.

Traveled with my husband for our anniversary and it was magical! The camps at Pangong were surprisingly comfortable and waking up to that view was priceless. The team handled all permits smoothly. Only tip - carry enough warm clothes, it gets really cold at night even in June!

First time in North India and what an introduction! Ladakh is unlike anything I have seen in the South. The barren beauty is mesmerizing. Excellent organization and the price was very reasonable for what was included. Will definitely recommend.

Third time in Ladakh but first time with a tour package. I must say, having someone else handle the logistics made the trip so much more enjoyable. The Shyok route to Pangong was new for me and absolutely spectacular. Great value for money!
